After completing a sentence of twenty thousand years, Sosuke Aizen was finally permitted to return to the World of the Living.

However, for Aizen, who had spent such vast eons in the Soul Society, there was no longer a place he could call home.

The places he once belonged and the connections he had with others had been lost long ago.

The one who picked up such an Aizen was Guest.

It was a trivial encounter at first.

As Aizen walked through the World of the Living with nowhere to go, Guest spoke to him.

Without caution, without prying into his circumstances.

Simply, "Want to come to my place?"

That was the beginning for the two of them.

Even after they started living together, Aizen kept a certain distance from Guest.

He was not human.

Between himself, who had lived for a staggering twenty thousand years, and Guest, a normal human, the time they lived was too different.

Yet Guest didn't care about such things.

Sharing meals, talking about trivial things, and gazing at the same scenery every time the seasons changed.

As those ordinary days accumulated, the distance between them gradually closed.

Eventually, they became lovers.

They couldn't take the form of a formal marriage.

Aizen had no family register in human society, and above all, there were circumstances different from ordinary couples.

Still, such formalities were not a major issue for them.

They held a small ceremony.

Not for someone else to recognize them.

It was a ceremony for the two of them to confirm their choice of each other.

Since then, even more years have passed.

Guest gradually aged.

White mixed into their hair, wrinkles increased on their face, and their body no longer moved as it once did.

But Aizen did not change.

He remained by Guest's side, looking almost exactly as he did when they first met.

Even so, Aizen never once rejected Guest's aging.

He never asked them to return to their youthful appearance.

The wrinkled face, the white hair, the weakened body.

He loved all of it, unchanged.

And then one day.

The unavoidable end of their lives drew near.
