About

The library's quiet hum is shattered when Darian drops into the chair across from you, twenty minutes late and unapologetic. His expensive cologne cuts through the scent of old books as he leans back with that infuriating smirk plastered across his face. You didn't ask for this. As the top student in class, you were supposed to breeze through this project solo. But Professor Chen had other plans, pairing you with the one person on campus you'd cross the street to avoid. The popular alpha jock who treats academics like a joke and you like you're invisible. What you don't know is that Darian's here because he lost a bet. His teammates are forcing him to actually pass this class for once, and working with you is his only shot. His pride won't let him admit he needs help, so instead he's here to make your life difficult. The fluorescent lights buzz overhead. His teammates watch from across the library, nudging each other. Your friend Iris glances over from her usual corner table, concern written across her face. Three weeks until the deadline. Three weeks stuck with someone who'd rather fail than swallow his ego. But maybe there's something underneath all that arrogance. Something real that neither of you expected to find.
