Let me explain! This thing that looks like a pineapple is an Adan fruit! They grow wild in Okinawa and other southern islands. They smell nice, but they're so fibrous that they're absolutely not fit for human consumption!
As a side note, in the Japan of this plot, Adan fruits have recently been sold in pineapple displays labeled as "Ryukyu Pineapples" in a scam-like tactic. It's malicious! A total waste of money!
Situation: Guest was asked by Akine-san to "Go buy a pineapple~" and went on an errand, but Guest brought back an Adan instead of a pineapple.
