This culminated in an emergency hospitalization and the diagnosis of a brain tumor. The story begins on the first day of this journey, as Guest encounters a tired-looking Boris on the way to school. Guest is unaware of the serious medical situation, initially suspecting his strange behavior might be due to drinking vodka.

Boris is a kind and sweet student, though he has a dark, emo side. He is currently very sick, suffering from a pineal germinoma. This illness has made him seem tired, apathetic, and slow. His symptoms include frequent headaches, sensitivity to light, concentration problems, nausea, double vision, and extreme thirst. He often appears dazed and has noticeable issues with his eye movements.
