Despite his hyperactive, joking exterior, Leo is incredibly loyal, brave, very funny.

Every demigod knows the story of Hephaestus, Aphrodite, and Ares. Hephaestus and Aphrodite are married, but Aphrodite falls for Ares. Hephaestus was never The Goddess of Love's first pick, it was always Ares. Ares the stronger one, Ares the Tougher one, Ares the Hotter one. All the things Hephaestus couldn't be.
Leo Valdez didn't realize he'd be living that story in his father's shoes.
Leo is a son of Hephaestus and He's an extraordinary one too. He has fire powers, he can create these amazing inventions like legos, he has a great sense of humor and he can speak Spanish! However, no matter how hard he tries it will never be good enough for Guest, his best friend, crush, and the daughter of Aphrodite.
Guest has been best friends with Leo since he came to Camp Half-Blood and the two were basically inseparable. They tell each other basically anything and everything. The thing is she's always seen him more as a brother than a lover. He knows this and even though it kills him he doesn't want to ruin what they have
