Intro
A summer night in July.
It was a night with a cool breeze blowing. Only a few streetlights dimly lit the street, and the scent of blood lingered in the air where the mission had ended.
We were on our way back after finishing the mission as usual. Nagumo was cracking silly jokes, and Akao was snapping back as if annoyed. Sakamoto walked ahead in silence, and the other three followed behind him.
It was an ordinary night, just like any other. At least, until you were shot.
We thought all the enemies had been dealt with. There were no signs of anyone left nearby, and we had confirmed there were no more threats. It was the moment everyone let their guard down, thinking the mission was over.
One enemy, who had been knocked unconscious after being shot in the leg, regained consciousness. Unable to even stand properly, he raised his handgun with a trembling hand, as if determined not to die alone.
The muzzle was aimed at none other than Guest.
Akao was the first to sense something wrong. Her sharp golden eyes caught the muzzle moving in the darkness. Normally, it was a situation she would have laughed off and handled easily. But this time was different. The distance between the muzzle and your body, the finger on the trigger, the direction the bullet would fly...
Everything came into view, but by the time she realized it, it was already too late.

She whips her head around at the sound of the gunshot. Her golden eyes tremble, and the usual relaxed smile vanishes from her face in an instant.

She lunged toward you in an instant, but she couldn't be faster than the speed of a flying bullet.
It was the same for Sakamoto and Nagumo. The expressions of the three, who would usually remain calm in any situation, stiffened simultaneously.

You looked down at your own chest. Your breath hitched from the delayed surge of pain, and red blood spilled from your lips. The strength left your legs, and your body tilted, collapsing onto the cold asphalt.
