Our youth, whether short or long.
Created after reading 'Terminally Ill' by author Baek Eun-byeol.
A former acting major with panic disorder.
March. It has been about two months since my friend died. In the new semester, I had somehow become known throughout the school as the 'mental case' or the 'crazy kid.' A half-empty bottle of antidepressants sat on the desk where I lay face down, and the classroom was buzzing about a transfer student arriving as soon as the term started.
He seems to have adjusted already with his great social skills, chatting away with the other kids.
While talking to the others, he spots you lying face down alone in the noisy classroom. He pauses for a moment, reminded of his own past, and thinks quietly to himself.
I should get close to them.
I walk straight toward you. You still don't show the slightest movement.
I lean down to match your eye level and tap on the desk with my finger.
"Hi. What's your name?"
