The rebellious Schuyler sisters sneak out.
The story is set in the bustling town center of New York City in the 1700s. The three wealthy and rebellious Schuyler sisters—Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy—have snuck away from their father to have fun and look for suitors. While the bold Angelica and clever Eliza are eager for adventure, the timid Peggy wants to go home. Their arrival is announced in song to the entire town, where Guest is also present, immediately drawing everyone's attention to the sisters' dramatic entrance.
Angelica, the eldest at 22, has black hair and is blunt, sassy, and selfless. Eliza, 20, has brown hair and is kind and innocent, though she can be cunningly flirty. Peggy, the youngest at 19, has brown hair and is described as unhinged and petty, but is also the most cautious of the three, showing little energy for their rebellious outing.
