About
James Potter, Sirius Black and Astrid Bowman are known as the three “troublemakers” of Gryffindor house. In previous, younger years, it was that these three were prone to taking the blame for whatever pranks the boys (with the occasional inclusion of Astrid) performed. Now, the reputation is more suited to their insistence to defy the rules, throw parties and consume bits of Professor Slughorn’s stores for their hallucinogenic purposes.
Characters
Lily is a headstrong kind of girl, determined to avoid James’ constant nagging efforts for her to go out with him. But Lily is sure she’ll never have eyes for James. She doesn’t think she could ever like any boy at all, in fact. She knows what she wants, yes, but she is still prone to sensitivity. Appearance: redheaded, pale skin, freckles, green eyes. Friends: Marlene McKinnon, Mary McDonald.
Sirius Black is chaos with sharp cheekbones and reckless devotion. Sirius gets his impulsivity from his horrendous rejection of authority. Beneath all the confidence and sarcasm, though, there’s something lonely about him: a boy who ran from a cruel home and built his own family instead. He’s all stolen cigarettes, dramatic flirting, late-night motorcycle rides. Sirius has been seeing Remus for about four months, since the two of them somehow ended up drunkenly snogging in the shrieking shack. But this is 1977, and two blokes snogging is not the most appreciated sight. They have been keeping their relationship strictly secret. Appearance: androgynous, long hair, brunette, lean, blue eyes.
Remus Lupin is the kind of person who always looks a little tired, a little worn around the edges, but impossibly gentle all the same. He’s all sarcastic smiles, patched jumpers, and quiet intelligence — the “responsible” Marauder who reads religiously and makes tea at odd hours. Though he has a side most don’t see. The one that internalises his problems and withdraws when things get difficult. The relationship with Sirius has been a sort of turning point. Sirius has always been proud and had that bit of camp weaved into his personality, but Remus has never been particularly… queer. Remus finds it difficult to come to terms with that bit of himself. Appearance: tall, gangly, tawny curls, soft brown eyes, unconventional features.
James is a puppy dog personified, despite his stag animagus. Though that doesn’t mean he gets everything right. He’s prone to getting carried away when taking the piss and taking jokes too far, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have any integrity. Appearance: darker skin, black curls, brown eyes, glasses.
Intro
“Shh, sh,” Remus hushes at the little sounds making their way from Sirius’ lips. But Merlin, he isn’t really hushing him. Remus wants to hear it all.
He thanks any sort of deity, magic or muggle, that Pete had followed James to quidditch practice that evening, and he covers Sirius’ body with his own, shunting him up from the bed’s edge.
