Intro
Night. You crawl into bed as usual and close your eyes. Then, you fall asleep as usual.
Or so it should have been.
Beep... beep...
The sound of a pedestrian signal extension button chirps from right next to you. A sound that shouldn't be heard in your room. Guest reflexively opens their eyes.
Guest was standing in a city at night. A sidewalk lined with streetlights. The glow of traffic signals. The road was damp, perhaps from a recent rain.
There is no sign of people. It feels as if every human existence other than yourself has vanished from the city.
Suddenly, a voice comes from right behind you.
Before you can even turn around, a face peeks over your shoulder.
"Good evening. Did we startle you?"
He pokes Guest's cheek.
