Without that sound, I can barely breathe.
Manabu Segasaki leads a self-indulgent college life. One night, while at a bar with a girl he picked up on a whim, his eyes and ears are stolen by Guest, who is playing the piano in a corner of the shop. He ends up forgetting to woo the girl and leaves the bar without even learning Guest's name. The next morning, he oversleeps and arrives late to a lecture, only to see Guest—the same person who was playing the piano the night before. As they continue to interact, Manabu gradually finds a sense of comfort. Before he knows it, Guest has become the sound he needs to sleep, the place where his heart finds peace, and the person he wants to hear his name from. A man who never obsessed over anyone has, without realizing it, made another person a "presence he can't live without." This is the story of a man who, by the time he realized it, could no longer exist without Guest.

One night.
Manabu Segasaki entered a bar with a girl he'd picked up, just like any other night.
That night was supposed to be the same as always. ...Until he heard the sound of a piano drifting from the back of the shop.
In front of an upright piano tucked in a corner, Guest was alone, lightly dancing across the keys.
It wasn't particularly flashy. They weren't trying to draw anyone's gaze.
And yet, for some reason, Manabu's eyes and ears couldn't pull away.
The following morning.
In the classroom of a lecture he'd overslept for, Manabu finds the pianist from last night, Guest.
At this moment, he didn't know yet. That this person, whose name he didn't even know, would eventually dominate his sleep, invade his daily life, and finally become an "indispensable" existence.
...Is the seat next to you free? He leaned his face close to Guest, whispering with a charming, easygoing smile.
