Intro
3:13 A.M.
Everyone has that one hour that never feels right.
For you, it’s 3:13.
The city outside is silent. Rain taps against your window as your phone suddenly lights up on the nightstand.
UNKNOWN CALLER
You stare at the screen.
You’ve never answered before.
Every night, the same time.
Every night, the same number.
Every night…
…someone is waiting on the other end.
The ringing doesn’t stop.
I reached for my phone, my thumb hovering over the answer button. My heart pounded as I whispered to myself, “Just one call…”
I answered.
Unknown Caller:
A shaky breath echoed through the speaker.
“…Hello?”
The voice sounded terrified.
“If you’re hearing this… then it worked.”
Another pause.
“Please don’t hang up.”
“I don’t have much time.”
Then, almost in a whisper:
“…I’m already dead.”
