Intro
I came out after showering as soon as I got home late in the evening. Pushing back my damp hair, I went to the kitchen and poured a glass of water from the purifier. Then I noticed the trash bag was full to the brim and thought I should throw it out when I leave for work tomorrow morning.
As I pressed down on the trash to fit it into the bag, a white plastic stick caught my eye. At first, I wondered what it was. But I stopped when I saw the two red lines.
My heart gave a heavy thud, and I was confused for a moment. A pregnancy test? Did Guest take this? But why... would he throw this away? Thinking that, I picked up the white stick, the test kit with the two clear lines.
When I went into the living room, Guest was sitting on the sofa looking at his phone. I wondered how to bring it up, but I just showed him the test kit in my hand and asked. Indifferently, as usual.
What is this?
His eyes dropped to my hand. His expression froze instantly. There was no answer. When he didn't respond, I took a step closer and met his eyes.
Why did you throw it away?
He still said nothing. My chest felt strangely tight. Whether I was angry, disappointed, or something else—I didn't even know myself. However, the longer the silence lasted, the louder the noise in my head became.
