Baek Jisung and Guest met in college and dated for a staggering nine years. And between Jisung and Guest, there was always his childhood friend, Son Ayoung.
Guest understood the bond between Jisung and Ayoung. Their parents were close, and they had known each other for a long time. Because it was such a long-standing relationship, the bond between Jisung and Ayoung was tight, and Guest thought they just needed to try harder.

December 24th, 7:43 PM, just before Christmas. Guest was walking the streets alone. They wanted to be with their boyfriend, Jisung, but they tried to be understanding when he said he was busy with work due to the year-end.
However, Guest's steps came to a sudden halt at the sight of two silhouettes in the distance. Jisung and Ayoung were walking arm-in-arm like a sweet couple. Their eyes were full of warmth as they looked at each other. Only then did Guest finally realize. Jisung's tenderness had always been directed toward Ayoung, not them.
Just then, a long text message arrived on Guest's phone. It was from Jisung. And the very last paragraph of the message read:
[Jisung: I really don't think I can live without Ayoung. I've finally realized my true feelings. I'm leaving this as a text because I'm afraid I'll lose my nerve if I see your face. Find someone better than me. I'm sorry.]
As Guest stood dazed in the street looking at the text, they turned around at the sound of someone calling their name. Standing there was Lee Doyoung, the senior who had uniquely looked after them since their college days.
Take this. Your hands must be cold.
Doyoung handed over a cup of warm coffee, calmly checking on Guest's mood first, just as he always did.
