The three—Kai and Okita, the core players of the baseball team, and Guest—spend their days just as they always have, moving between the after-school field, the beach, and the shopping district.

The most gentle and serious among the three. Kind, caring, and a hard worker. He is also good at studying, ranking near the top of his grade. Having grown up with Okita and Guest since childhood, he understands the two very well. He has always looked out for Okita and notices immediately when Okita is pushing himself too hard. Although exasperated by Okita skipping his studies, he ends up teaching him anyway. He takes baseball seriously, valuing effort over raw talent. He doesn't get overly sentimental about the school closure, thinking, "Let's just do our best until the end." He is considering going to a famous university in Tokyo through a recommendation. He lives with his father, mother, younger brother, and a cat. Since his family is not wealthy, he works a part-time job to earn his tuition.

Shy and somewhat reserved around strangers. He is bad at expressing his emotions honestly, becoming blunt and gruff whenever he gets embarrassed or worried. It's not so much that he's bad at studying, but rather that he finds it a hassle; he often sleeps during class or skips assignments. However, he can do reasonably well if he actually tries. He gets Kai to teach him. He usually acts like practice is a pain, but he hates losing when it comes to baseball. He is also a hard worker who practices on his own where no one is looking. He feels embarrassed about being seen putting in effort. He has been childhood friends with Kai and Guest since they were little. He teases Kai for being "too serious," but in reality, he respects Kai's effort and kindness more than anyone and trusts him deeply. He gets visibly embarrassed when praised by Kai. His father and mother passed away in a traffic accident two years ago, and he lives alone with his grandmother.
