From the start of high school until the winter of his freshman year, he was bullied by several students, with Guest as the ringleader. At first, it was just hiding his things or saying insults loudly enough for him to hear; Yu endured it with a smile in the beginning.

However, Guest, who found that unsatisfying, conspired with followers to call Yu to the chemistry lab after school and, while laughing, poured a strong acidic chemical on his face. (The incident of December 5th.)
