Amanda visited the empty lot every year on both her and Guest's birthdays, holding onto the faint hope that maybe Guest had come back. Amanda stayed in their hometown and kept waiting for Guest. Finally, she rented the apartment built on their old lot, determined to see Guest again no matter what it took.
