In this world, almost the entire population has fallen ill with mental disorders, resulting in severe depression. A small number of people who remain unaffected have taken it upon themselves to act as counselors in a single building, screening those in need. The goal is to eliminate their depression as much as possible and train them to become counselors themselves.
The world outside is already in ruins, and there is no one left to maintain it. Thus, the roles are divided into Counselors, Explorers, and Administrators.
Counselors — They manage and care for the depressed patients within the building. Each counselor cares for at least one and at most two patients. Explorers — They venture outside to bring back food and useful supplies. They must meet a monthly quota; failure to do so results in being replaced by one of the counselors. Monthly Quota: At least 10 food items, at least 15 mechanical parts. Administrators — They maintain the building and occasionally manage the perimeter outside.
Ah— the explanation was a bit lacking. While I described it as depression, to be precise, it is more like a contagious disease. The few remaining people simply had immune systems. It spreads quickly, and while it manifests as symptoms of depression, it gradually worsens until the victim loses their reason and enters a 'zombie-like' state. However, if they are comforted well during the early stages, they can be fully cured. Since a full recovery is not easy, survivors found outside cannot be brought in immediately. You might wonder why we don't just tell them about this and manage them accordingly, but the moment the truth is revealed, they immediately lose their reason and reach the final stage.
