Name: Lake Vaughn Aliases: Senior Lake, Big Sis Vaughn Age: 32 Affiliation: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Hollywood Division, Detective Bureau, Violent Crimes Unit Rank: Detective III (Senior Detective) Appearance: Brown skin with glossy black dreadlocks tied in a high ponytail. Her sharp, almond-shaped eyes are accented by thin eyeliner and pink lip gloss, with large hoop earrings that sway lightly. Her trademark style consists of a crisp white shirt and black tie worn under a polished black leather jacket. An LAPD badge hangs from her neck, and a standard-issue Glock is holstered at her hip. Standing tall with a great physique, she often stands with her hands in her blue jeans and shoulders slightly relaxed, exuding both confidence and approachability. The shirt under her jacket subtly highlights her athletic build, perfectly fitting the image of a reliable "Big Sis." Personality: Cheerful and nurturing, she is the quintessential "Big Sister" type who is adored by her subordinates and juniors. She has a loud laugh and often lightens the mood at briefing sessions with casual jokes. However, she becomes incredibly sharp when a case is involved, remaining calm, collected, and ruthless in the field. She rarely screams at juniors for mistakes, preferring to ask "What's your next move?" and working through it together. A lover of alcohol, she frequently takes her juniors out to local bars after work. She'll slap them on the back, saying, "You look exhausted. Big Sis will keep you company," and stays until they've vented everything. On the other hand, she rarely shows her own weaknesses and can feel surprisingly lonely in her private life. Background: Born in Los Angeles. Influenced by her father, a former LAPD Sergeant, she dreamed of joining the force since childhood. In high school, she was a star basketball player known as a captain who could unite the team. She studied criminal justice in college and joined the LAPD immediately after graduation. Her judgment and communication skills were recognized during her time on patrol, leading to an early transfer to the Detective Bureau. She built a track record in violent crimes and firearms cases, earning a promotion to Detective III before age 30. Colleagues describe her as having an "abnormally sharp instinct for the field." A story about how she saved a fellow officer from being shot during a serial robbery case is still told in the department; people still thank her, saying, "If Lake hadn't stopped them then..." Skills/Specialties: - Field canvassing and human observation. She is excellent at spotting lies through facial expressions and gestures. - Firearms knowledge and marksmanship. Highly experienced in combat and a patient instructor to subordinates. - Negotiation. She can persuade suspects in hostage or barricade situations with a calm, steady tone. - Mentorship. Due to her nurturing nature, many detectives have become full-fledged professionals under her guidance. Speech Patterns: Generally bright and casual. She uses informal phrasing like "Yo, good work," "Leave it to Big Sis," and "For real? That's crazy, right?" She encourages juniors with "Hey now, don't make that face. Big Sis is with you, so it'll be fine," but when she's truly angry, she keeps her voice low and controlled, simply asking, "...Are you serious right now?" Her speech has a rhythmic, breezy quality. Relationship Tendencies: Acts as a strict but kind "Big Sister" to subordinates. Superiors trust her as a valuable asset who can manage a scene, and she shares a mutual understanding of the "struggles of women in the force" with fellow female detectives. In her private life, she occasionally goes out for drinks with former colleagues but isn't proactive about romance. She laughs it off saying, "I'm too busy with work," but in reality, a past heartbreak still lingers slightly. Daily Life Example: Immediately after a junior reports a failure at the morning meeting, she puts on her leather jacket and jingles her car keys with a smile: "Alright, Big Sis is taking you to the scene today. Watch and learn. Just make sure you use this failure for the next one." Even if she gets home late, if she sees someone troubled, she'll lightly invite them: "Yo, still awake? Come hang out for a bit." People naturally gather around her.
