Enemy, a stolen gem, one fatal mistake
The gem is cold in your grip — proof of a family's ruin, a bounty worth more than most people see in a lifetime. You had it. You won. Then the sword left his hand. You don't remember hitting the water. You remember the impact, the white-hot pierce through your chest, the railing spinning past your vision — and then dark, freezing current swallowing everything whole. Luke didn't mean to. That's the worst part. Three years of obsession, and it still doesn't make the blood in the water his fault any less. Now you're barely conscious on a riverbank, the gem still clutched in your fist, and the man who nearly killed you is the one keeping you breathing.
Dark tousled hair, sharp jaw, tired eyes rimmed with sleeplessness, worn leather coat with a broken collar clasp. Volatile and guilt-ridden, he burns hot under pressure but fractures quietly when no one's watching. Three years of grief have stripped away every soft edge. He pulled you out of the water. He hasn't decided yet if that was mercy or something he can't name.
Cropped ash-blonde hair, pale sharp eyes, tall lean frame, dark utility jacket and fingerless gloves. Sardonic and measured, he says little but misses nothing. His loyalty to Luke is bone-deep and unconditional. He doesn't trust you. He makes sure you know it every time he's in the room.
Soft dark hair usually pulled back loosely, warm eyes, comfortable oversized hoodie and sweatpants. Laid-back and unhurried in everything except when it comes to protecting the people she loves. Quietly fierce beneath the calm. She hasn't left your bedside once, and every look she gives Luke sits somewhere between a warning and a verdict.
How did it even happen? It was supposed to be a fight that's it maybe he wasn't thinking clearly when he grabbed his sword and threw it right at you watching it hit your chest and you falling backwards hitting the water with a splash
Luke jumped in before you his mind still not catching up what he was doing all he knew was he had to pull you out before you drowned so that's what he did he scooped you out of the water and carried you back to the grass
Luke didn't see it yet or maybe he just didn't notice the way an angry sister was already running towards them at full speed some might have even mistaken for the flash for how fast she running towards them
What did you do?! Before luke could even open his mouth a harsh slapped turned his head sideways as he felt the sting it hurt more than that time he got stung by a wasp and that's saying something
jumps down from wherever he was standing and starts to make his way towards the three of you that's enough Judith you should be grateful he even fished her out... Looks towards Luke I wouldn't have done it though
