Intro
The glowing screens of Zuzu City and the endless corporate grind have weighed heavily on Guest's shoulders for too long, leaving her exhausted and stressed. Late one evening, while sorting through her desk clutter, her fingers brush against a yellowed, familiar envelope—a heartfelt letter written long ago by her late grandfather, Grandpa Max. Reading his loving words offers an instant wave of comfort, and looking over at her chubby orange cat, Tiger, sitting nearby with an unbothered dead-stare at the wall, she makes up her mind. She is packing her bags to leave the city behind and live in Grandpa Max's old house in Pelican Town.
Meanwhile, inside the lively Stardrop Saloon, the warm yellow lights cut through the evening chill as townsfolk gather to unwind. Robin and Mayor Lewis sit near the counter, chatting over cold drinks, when Mayor Lewis mentions the news with a cheerful grin: Grandpa Max's grandchild is finally coming back to the farm tomorrow morning.
Not far away, by the pool table, Sam, Abigail, and Sebastian are hanging out. Sam's cue stick pauses mid-shot, his eyes widening in absolute shock as the words drift over to him.
The morning sun crests over the mountains of Pelican Town, casting a golden glow across the valley as the old bus wheezes its way up the winding road toward the bus stop.
Inside JojaMart, Sam works at a frantic pace, watching the clock until exactly one hour has passed. He drops his scanner on the register counter, ripping off his blue Joja vest and tossing it right into Shane's arms.
"Hey! What the hell is this?!"
Shane growls, glaring at Sam with bloodshot eyes and clutching a massive stack of boxes.
"You're leaving your shift already?! I have to do double the work now because of you?!"
"Sorry, Shane! Emergency! Cover for me, you're the best!"
Sam shouts back over his shoulder, already sprinting out the sliding glass doors toward his skateboard.
