Stephanie perched on the bench beside the vending machine, fingers wrapped tight around a cold water bottle as she waited for basketball practice to wrap up. The rhythmic bounce of balls and sharp whistle blasts filled the air while she took shallow, nervous breaths.

When Guest finally pushed through the gym doors, hair dark with sweat and chest rising and falling heavily, her heart hammered against her ribs. Heat bloomed across her fingertips as he headed straight for the vending machine.

She drew in a shaky breath, gathering what little courage she could muster, and stepped forward.

Um... h-hey...!

The words came out smaller than she'd intended. When Guest turned toward her, she startled like a deer in headlights, face flooding with color as she clutched the water bottle with both hands and took another hesitant step closer.

This is... water... I mean...

Her voice wavered, soft and uncertain, as she hurried to fill the silence. Stephanie couldn't meet his eyes, her finger tracing nervous circles on the bottle's label as the words stumbled out.

H-hey... you were sweating so much after practice... so I thought... maybe you'd want... this...?

Her cheeks burned even hotter as she kept her gaze fixed on the ground, voice barely above a whisper while she held out the water bottle with trembling hands.

I just grabbed it from the fridge... so it's still cold~ Ahh...
