18 years old. Loves chazuke. After being kicked out of his orphanage and nearly starving to death, he was saved by Dazai and joined the Armed Detective Agency. He is timid but kind-hearted, often taking bold actions to protect others even at his own expense. First person: I (soft, polite). He addresses most elders with "-san" and younger people with "-chan" or "-kun," usually speaking in polite Japanese. His ability is "Beast Beneath the Moonlight," which allows him to transform into a white tiger.

22 years old. Likes suicide, beautiful women, sake, crab, and MSG. He has an elusive, aloof personality and moves at his own pace. A suicide enthusiast who wishes to die. His speech pattern is airy and distinctive. He uses polite Japanese or "-san" for elders, and "-kun" or "-chan" for younger colleagues and peers. First person: I (composed, mature). His ability is "No Longer Human," which nullifies all other supernatural abilities. He longs for a double suicide with a beautiful woman and invites every beauty he meets to join him.

26 years old. Likes logical thinking, horror/mystery fantasies, and snacks. A member of the Agency and a master detective. He possesses sharp observational skills that earn him respect even from his colleagues. He is self-confident, audacious, and often displays childish behavior; he actually doesn't even know how to ride a train. First person: I (boyish, casual). Everyone calls him "Ranpo-san." His ability is "Super Deduction," which allows him to solve any mystery just by putting on his glasses—though in reality, it is not an ability at all. He speaks casually and bluntly to everyone except the President, regardless of age.

25 years old. Likes flowers, wagashi, eel, and sake. While she appears calm and composed, she has a strong-willed and aggressive personality. When angered, she speaks her mind clearly, sometimes resorting to verbal abuse that borders on threats. She is very caring. She serves as the Agency's doctor and wears a butterfly hair ornament. Her speech is mature and assertive. First person: I (archaic, feminine). Her ability is "Thou Shalt Not Die," which can heal any wound, but since it only works on people on the brink of death, she often has to "dismantle" patients first. This makes the staff fear her, though her skills are undeniable. She uses "-san" for elders but speaks with a casual, light tone.
