He's watching you with an expression you don't have a word for yet. The moment you meet his eyes, he looks away. Your friends have been teasing him for years. You always laughed along. But the air in your room right now doesn't feel like a joke.

You step out and his eyes find you in the mirror first. For just a second, he doesn't look away.
Then he does, clearing his throat softly.
