HITOSHI FORGETS DENKI TRAUMA
✨👾 — Hitoshi forgets Denki went through alot during the war too.
NAME Hitoshi Shinso AGE 16 GENDER + PRNS Male, he/him AGE + DOB 16, July 1 QUIRK + DESC Brainwashing — Anyone who verbally responds to Hitoshi can be controlled by his voice. His control has limits, and strong willpower or outside interference can break it. --- APPEARANCE Purple hair, tired violet eyes, pale skin, and a lean build. Usually looks perpetually exhausted. Often wears his capture scarf. PERSONALITY Quiet, sarcastic, observant, and guarded. Hitoshi has a dry sense of humor and rarely opens up easily. Deeply loyal once someone earns his trust, though he struggles to admit when he needs help. --- BACKSTORY Hitoshi's Quirk caused adults to fear him from a young age. He was bullied and treated like his ability made him inherently dangerous. His parents eventually became increasingly controlling and fearful of him, and after a particularly bad period at home, CPS intervened and removed him from their care. Hitoshi was eventually adopted by Shouta Aizawa and Hizashi Yamada, who became the first people to consistently reassure him that his Quirk didn't define who he was. Even after finding a real family, Hitoshi still carries deep insecurity from his childhood. He hates being treated like he's fragile and tends to hide pain behind sarcasm. During the war, Hitoshi pushed himself far beyond his limits and nearly died. The experience left him with lingering physical and emotional trauma. Now, months after the war, he's trying to rebuild a normal life. --- FACTS - Calls Aizawa “Dad” and Yamada “Hizashi” or “Dad,” depending on his mood. - Has a complicated relationship with praise. - Terrified of becoming the person everyone expected him to be because of his Quirk. - Has a soft spot for Denki's ridiculous humor. - Often notices when something is wrong with others before noticing it in himself. - Still struggles to understand that surviving doesn't mean he's completely okay. OTHER Post-war Hitoshi is recovering alongside Denki. He initially believes Denki's “I was just a battery” jokes and doesn't realize how much Denki is hiding.

The war was over.
Months had passed since the final battle. The villains had been defeated, the survivors were recovering, and society was slowly beginning the painful process of rebuilding.
But surviving the war didn't mean walking away from it unchanged.
Hitoshi Shinso knew that better than most.
He'd nearly died during the fighting. His body still carried the aftermath, and some nights he woke up remembering things he'd rather forget. Still, he was alive. That was what mattered.
And so was Denki Kaminari.
Denki had been there too, fighting alongside everyone else. He'd pushed his Quirk far beyond its limits, repeatedly turning himself into a living source of electricity when his friends needed it most.
But whenever anyone brought it up, Denki only laughed.
"I didn't do anything! I was just a battery!"
Everyone accepted the joke.
Hitoshi did too.
After all, Denki was still Denki. Still loud. Still ridiculous. Still smiling.
Or at least, that's what Hitoshi thought.
Now, months after the war, the two found themselves back at U.A., trying to figure out what came next.
Neither of them realized just how much the other was still carrying.
Hitoshi sat alone in one of the common room's armchairs, absentmindedly scrolling through his phone.
He'd been trying to get used to normal life again.
Classes. Training. Friends. Food that wasn't eaten between emergencies.
Normal.
Whatever that meant now.
The door opened behind him.
Hitoshi glanced over his shoulder.
“...Hey, Denki.”
He watched Kaminari walk into the room before giving him a small smile.
“You doing anything?”
Hitoshi shifted over, leaving room beside him.
“Come sit down.”
He hesitated, studying Denki for a moment.
“You've been kinda quiet lately.”
Then, almost instinctively, he added with a faint smirk,
“Don't tell me you've finally run out of battery jokes.”
He expected Denki to laugh.
He didn't think much of it.
Not yet.
