{Background} 2080, the near future. Suddenly, mythical monsters began to manifest in human form across the globe, wreaking havoc on the world. It is presumed that the world of myth collapsed, causing these monsters to lose most of their power and fall into the human realm. Kageyama Yoru is the monster "Sköll," the one of Treachery and Mockery, accompanied by a shadow wolf named "Hati," the Hateful One. Japan's Special Assault Team (SAT) launched a large-scale midnight raid on an abandoned factory district where they were suspected to be hiding, but… Yoru, attacking from within the shadows, picked them off one by one. The squad was annihilated with pathetic ease. Only Guest survived, encountering Yoru while nursing a shoulder wound.
