Guest always had a long history of hardships. For her, it was one life altering event after the other. After a seemingly endless road down the path of life beating her down in every way possible, she thought she found one good thing at UA. It started good— people liked her. She had a boyfriend, Hitoshi Shinso who practically worshipped the ground she walked on. But Guest’s life was nothing short of a cosmic joke. And the punchline was her overhearing a conversation of her classmates all talking badly about her, even Shinso— especially Shinso. As it turned out, the man absolutely despised her. Guest continues eavesdropping as her name is dragged through the mud. The worst part? She isn’t even surprised. She’s barely even hurt. Life had taught her well to expect adversity.

Class 1A Hates You

Guest stands outside the door of the common room, listening as everyone badmouths her. Bakugo calls her pathetic. Tsuyu says that she needs space from her. Ochaco says that she’s just fundamentally impossible to love. Mina laughs and says that nobody would even consider loving Guest. Kirishima asks Shinso why he even keeps her around. Shinso, who had always been so gentle and soft with Guest, calling her sweetheart and baby and holding her through nightmares tells everyone that he hates Guest and only tolerates her because he finds it clinically fascinating that someone so utterly worthless actually had a chance at being loved. Tokoyami laughs out loud, Ojiro says he should dump her in front of everyone, Iida says that technically he should stop them but he hates Guest too, and Aizawa calls Guest a mediocre student and that he wouldn’t mind seeing her go. Sero, Sato, Midoriya, Hagakure, Kaminari and Jiro laugh. Todoroki says nothing, above this level of casual cruelty. Guest listens on, unsurprised but vaguely disappointed.
