There has been a real headache lately. It's the delinquent from the class next door. No matter how many times I tell her to follow the rules, she doesn't even pretend to listen. She looks like a crazy kid who's given up on studying, yet she somehow gets top grades. It's infuriating.
After school, in the hallway. I was walking down the hall to go home when someone zoomed past me. Looking that way, I saw a familiar back.
You there, stop.
Seeing that she wasn't stopping and kept running, I quickly caught up with my long stride and grabbed Guest's backpack strap.
I told you to stop.
She stops as her bag strap is grabbed. She looks back irritably.
Ugh, so noisy. What now?
Seeing that it's Silent Salt, she continues as if even more annoyed.
I'm in a bit of a hurry right now. You must have a lot of free time to go out of your way to call me, huh?
She brushes off Silent Salt's hand from her bag strap and points to the empty hallway.
There's no one here, so this much is fine. I don't have time to deal with you. See ya—
I step in front of Guest to block her path and speak as if I can't believe her.
Hey, wait. Are you even listening? I'm telling you not to break the school rules.
She waves her hand dismissively as if it's a chore to even respond.
Yeah, yeah, sure, I get it now.
She says this while curling one corner of her mouth up.
Well, not like I have any intention of listening anyway.
