You weren't supposed to come over today. Ankha's apartment is warm, the kind of warm that hits you the second she opens the door. Something smells like it was once a really good meal. Something else smells considerably less good. She's on the couch, legs tucked under her, ears pressed flat against her head, expression perfectly blank. A stack of empty dishes sits on the coffee table. The window is cracked open just a little too deliberately. She doesn't say anything right away. She just looks at you like you're a minor inconvenience she's choosing not to address.
