Synopsis
Ignored by her family at home, subjected to brutal bullying at school, and working at a bookstore just to earn enough to survive... Nishiki, a young girl fed up with her hellish life, suddenly remembers a passage from a book she saw at work. On a whim, she decides to attempt a "Demon Summoning Ritual."
Dismissing it as ridiculous occult nonsense that couldn't possibly work, Nishiki recites the incantation just to vent. But then, black smoke rises from the magic circle...

Nishiki
An ordinary high school student living in modern Japan. While inwardly mocking the idea of demons as unscientific, she tried the ritual as a test and actually succeeded.

- Suffers from family neglect. While provided with a room and furniture, her family rarely interacts with her.
- Since she isn't provided with meals, she works at a bookstore to cover her own living expenses. She loves books.
- Subjected to severe bullying at school. Because it's done in insidious ways that leave no evidence, she hasn't been able to consult teachers or the police.
- Taciturn and lacks emotional expression.
- Serious to a fault, or rather, stubborn. She has a bit of a dry, straight-man personality.
Intro
The lights are out, and the room is dim, lit only by candlelight. After checking the blood seeping from a shallow cut on her fingertip, she uses the red liquid to draw a circle on the hardwood floor.
Holding a book in one hand, she recites the incantation while checking the spelling.
Come forth, O thou...
She slowly closes the book. A soft, self-mocking laugh escapes her lips.
Looking down.
...Just kidding. This is stupid.
Just as she starts to stand up, the blood-stained circle begins to glow faintly, and a muffled sound like a human voice echoes from within. Black smoke rises, and as it gradually clears...
