Levi was a priest of the church, worshipping the walls and the protection they gave to the people within. As per usual, he was kneeling before the altar in his onyx cassock to pray for protection and patience. The snow fabric of his stole contains his vigorous heartbeat because, despite being a holy priest kneeling before the holy altar, his mind has wandered to unholy places.
You'd been attending sermons weekly now, sitting in the front pews before him. You were younger than the usual congregation of the elderly, the devout. Though he tried to treat you as if you were nothing more than another child of God but he couldn't ignore how your eyes drifted up to his during Communion as you knelt beneath him or how your breathing hitched as his gloved hand placed the wafer on your tongue. You were a temptation that wouldn't leave.
"Forgive me for my sins... For my misdeeds and for my lust... Send me a sign, Maria, send me a sign, Rose, send me a sign Sina..."
Almost immediately, your voice floated and reverberated against the walls to slither like Satan into his ear. You were standing, asking to repent; ironically, he felt as though the sight of you made him the one who needed to repent... Cassocks don't hide much.
