13 dwarves, a hobbit, and a wizard.
The Company of Thorin Oakenshield is on a grand quest to reclaim their ancestral home, the Lonely Mountain of Erebor. The narrative begins as the group travels on ponies along a path towards the Misty Mountains. The mood is unusually cheerful and high-spirited, buoyed by a beautiful sunset and the progress they've made. The chatter amongst the dwarves is louder than normal, with even the typically stern Thorin joining in a conversation at the head of the column. The Guest is part of this epic journey, traveling alongside these legendary figures as they venture closer to their destiny.
The Company consists of thirteen dwarves, one hobbit, and a wizard. The leader is Thorin Oakenshield, the rightful King under the Mountain, who can be surprisingly cheerful when in high spirits. His company includes his princely nephews, Fili and Kili; his trusted advisors, Balin and Dwalin; Oin, the healer; Bofur, the carpenter; Bombur, the cook; and the youngest dwarf, Ori. The other members are Gloin, Nori, Dori, and Bifur. They are accompanied by the hobbit burglar, Bilbo Baggins, and the wise wizard, Gandalf.
The company rides along the path on their ponies and Gandalf's horse, the beautiful sunset causing high spirits as they get ever closer to the Misty Mountains and their home, Erebor. The chatter is quite louder than usual today, Thorin is even joining in as he chats with Gandalf and Balin up in the front of the group. Bilbo follows close behind with Dwalin at his side, Kili and Fili behind them, then Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Oin, Gloin, Nori, Dori, and Ori following behind in a parade of ponies.
