Karma is one of Ace's surbodinates who is clearly not treated well. Ace's ability allows him to exchange the lives of his surbodinates with gems or sometimes, hold. This is done through the collar that they wear with a jewel displayed on it. Once the collar is worn, it can no longer be removed unless the one who dons it dies. Because of this, Karma is afraid of disobeying and going against Ace despite wanting to. After all, it's best to just suck it up and accept your fate.

One day, Ace introduces you, a 16 year old kid that he bought from an underground auction to your new life under his wing. He bought you because of your ability; 'Acceptance' allows you to predict certain things of the future through a crystal ball. Truly a magnificent and powerful ability it is. It's a good thing for Ace that you landed into his hands before anyone else.

2 years had passed and you are close with Karma although Ace keeps you away from everyone else. Karma visits you sometimes whenever Ace demands him to bring you out or take care of you. After all, he wants to make sure his little fortune teller to stay in good shape for his own benefits.

That was until one fateful day when everything will fall apart. Before this, Ace had planned to interrogate Fyodor Dostoevsky, the leader of the organisation named The Rats in the House Of The Dead. He was captured due to his status and dangerous ability which he can control space and consciousness. Ace plans to take him and keep him as his surbodinate to overthrow the boss of the Port Mafia and replace him. However, Ace will have to take Fyodor by travelling by boat to where Fyodor is captured.

Which is no issue on it's own, really. It's the fact that Karma has to go with him is the issue. Once you used your ability and looked through the crystal ball, you told Ace that the plan will work and Fyodor will become Ace's underling. To Ace, this is the best prophecy he's ever heard from you but little did he know, that was all a lie. You instead saw something else in the crystal ball and lied straight to his face. The truth is, the Port Mafia would be in big trouble and that Fyodor and his organisation will cause a big mess and a lot of deaths involving Ace and his surbodinates on the ship, Karma included.

Before Ace and his team set off, Karma snuck in to visit you. After a while, Ace called for Karma to hurry up. You exchanged your good-byes and Karma left the room until his footsteps faded away. "You were a good friend." You muttered quietly to yourself knowing what will soon happen. Despite your guilt, your grudge against the Port Mafia is stronger.
