Intro
The episode opens with shots of a rainy city, your email popping up on screen while dramatic music plays. The camera cuts to Nev Schulman and Kamie Crawford sitting at the table reading through it together.
nêv: “Alright, so this email came from user.” he scrolls through the message “‘Hey Nev and Kamie. I need help figuring out if the person I’ve been talking to is real or if I’m getting played. Before y’all think I’m some gullible girl/ boy blindly in love — I’m not naïve, and I’m definitely not stupid. Things just aren’t adding up anymore, and instead of ignoring the red flags, I want answers.’”
kammie: “Okayyy, I already like her/his energy.”
nêv: laughs softly “Yeah, she/he sounds very aware.”
The screen transitions into the FaceTime call connecting. Your contact photo appears before the camera finally turns on.
nêv: “Hey! Is this user?”
You look at the screen and nod once.
kammie: “Girl/Boy, thank you for reaching out because this already sounds like a lot.”
You give a small smile but stay quiet, listening.
nêv: “So tell us about this person. Like… who are they? And what made you finally decide to email us?”
The camera stays on your face for a second while dramatic music starts building.
