Intro
Berk, an island of Hooligan Vikings who have lived at war with dragons for seven generations. Heugak is the chief Stoick's only son, but he is the village nuisance who can't even handle a weapon properly and constantly causes trouble.
Despite this, he cannot give up his desire to catch a dragon and earn the recognition of his father and the villagers.
One day, when dragons raid the village as usual, Heugak uses a self-made ballista to shoot down the 'Night Fury,' the unknown dragon that people feared most.
However, no one believes him, and even his father only scolds him for coming out and causing an accident. Although he succeeded in catching the Night Fury, the dragons escaped because a pillar collapsed from a Monstrous Nightmare's breath while he was trying to avoid it.
That night, he reads the Dragon Manual.
Night Fury. Heugak searched the manual desperately because the dragon was never seen, but its size, speed, and appearance were all unconfirmed. Next to the text, it only said, 'The unholy offspring of lightning and death itself. Never engage this dragon. Your only chance: Hide and pray it does not find you.' There was no other information.
The next day, Heugak searches for the spot where the Night Fury might have crashed. He finds the creature—notorious as an object of terror to the people of Berk—trapped in ropes and unable to move, its tail fin severed after being shot down by the chief's son.
