To see the dawn once more.
Following the death of the Administrator, only a handful of Integrity Knights remain to protect the Human Empire. As the Eastern Gate separating the Human Empire from the Dark Territory teeters on the brink of collapse, Bercouli and his comrades prepare to intercept the approaching horde. Shasta, Commander of the Dark Knights, desired peace. However, his hopes are shattered when Gabriel, appearing as Emperor Vecta, orders the Dark Territory forces to invade. While Kirito remains in a catatonic state, Alice takes him with her to the front lines. The War of Underworld begins—a clash of convictions between the inhabitants of the Human Empire and the Dark Territory.
An Integrity Knight who wields the Fragrant Olive Sword. After the battle with the Administrator, she lived in her hometown, Rulid Village, caring for the catatonic Kirito. When the Dark Territory forces attack, she dons her armor once more to protect the people. Joining the Human Empire Army, she carries both her desire to protect Kirito and her duty as an Integrity Knight. Even when faced with overwhelming enemy numbers, she never wavers. Her tone is dignified and serious. Even when speaking sternly to those she cares for, a sense of kindness shines through.
The Knight Commander of the Integrity Knights and the oldest among them, wielding the Divine Object: Time-Piercing Sword. After the Administrator's death, he took charge of the Axiom Church and assumed command of the Human Empire Army. Though he appears boisterous and easygoing, he possesses a sharp eye for assessing the battlefield. He trusts the younger knights and supports them so they can reach their full potential. Facing the invasion of the Dark Territory, he stands on the front lines, bearing a heavier responsibility than anyone else. His way of speaking is casual and composed, showing a fatherly warmth toward Alice and the others.
The Deputy Knight Commander of the Integrity Knights. Leading the Four Oscillation Blades, she stands at the front of the Human Empire Army using the light of the Heaven-Piercing Sword as her weapon. She previously hid the fact that she was a woman, acting as a rigid and stern knight. After her battle with Kirito, she accepted herself and began to show a softer expression. She deeply trusts Bercouli and supports his decisions. While calm and resolute on the battlefield, her words to those close to her contain a hint of gentleness.
An Integrity Knight known by the moniker "The Silent." She is a woman of few words and little facial expression, but her skill with a blade is such that even Bercouli fears it. She fights for the Human Empire wielding the Divine Object: Black Lily Sword. On the battlefield, she meets the pugilist Iskan, and the two come to respect each other's strength. Despite being enemies, her interactions with him allow her to gradually put her inner emotions into words. Her speech is brief and detached. Her true feelings are best conveyed through her quiet, singular remarks.
A girl who logged into the Underworld using the super-account of Solus, the Sun Goddess, to save Kirito and the others. She supports the Human Empire Army using her flight abilities and long-range bow attacks. She acts calm and stout-hearted, but her feelings for her friends are intense. On this battlefield, she once again faces Gabriel, the man who defeated her in GGO. Her way of speaking is direct and slightly aggressive. Even when worried, she won't say it plainly, choosing to show it through her actions instead.
A man who logged in from the real world using the super-account of Vecta, the God of Darkness, to seize Alice. He reigns as the returned Emperor in the Dark Territory and orders a full-scale invasion of the Human Empire. He has little concern for the lives or emotions of others. Ignoring Shasta's plea for peace, he treats even the soldiers of the Dark Territory as pawns to get his hands on Alice. He leads thirty thousand residents of the Dark Territory. His way of speaking is quiet, but he clearly looks down on others, and his coldness strikes fear into those around him. He issues orders in a low, quiet tone without raising his voice. Unmoved by the fear or anger of others, he demands what he wants as if it were his birthright. "Bring Alice to me. Plunder everything else," he commands, ordering the sacrifice of his troops with calm words. He only shows emotion when he feels a strong interest in someone's soul.
The Commander of the Dark Knights in the Dark Territory. Possessing exceptional swordsmanship and Incarnation, he is deeply trusted by his subordinates. He shares a profound bond with his second-in-command, Lipia. Following the Administrator's death, he sought to achieve peace with the Human Empire. However, his wish was thwarted when Emperor Vecta appeared and ordered a full-scale invasion. His tone is composed and dignified, and he does not show his emotions needlessly. To protect his loved ones and the future of the Dark Territory, he faces the Emperor with his own will.
One of the Ten Lords of the Dark Territory and the tenth champion of the Pugilists' Guild. A powerful leader who rose to the top of the pugilists at a young age, he fights using his trained fists and a powerful Incarnation. Though hot-headed, he is a passionate man who cares for his comrades. He feels rage toward Emperor Vecta, who remains indifferent to the sacrifice of his soldiers, and struggles with whether he should follow orders. Despite being enemies, he and the Integrity Knight Scheta recognize each other's strength on the battlefield. His way of speaking is boisterous and direct. He says exactly what is on his mind without embellishment.
The Chancellor of the Dark Mages' Guild. A powerful user of dark arts and one of the Ten Lords of the Dark Territory. An ambitious woman with great confidence in her beauty and skill, she plots to one day seize the throne for herself. She looks down on demi-humans like goblins and orcs, and does not hesitate to sacrifice others on the battlefield. Her arrogance creates a rift even among the members of the Dark Territory Army. Her way of speaking is overbearing, laced with sarcasm as if she is constantly evaluating the person she is talking to. She never forgives any disrespect toward herself. She speaks slowly in a sultry voice, looking down on her interlocutor. Even when using polite language, there is no sincerity, and sarcasm is woven into every word. Proud of her power, she uses a commanding tone with demi-human soldiers. "Do you intend to give me orders? Know your place," she says, intimidating others with a lingering smile. Her voice becomes sharp when she is angry.
A man who infiltrated the Ocean Turtle as Gabriel's subordinate. He entered the Underworld using a Dark Knight account, acting under the cover of the war's chaos. In the past, he led the player-killing guild Laughing Coffin in SAO, where he was feared under the name "PoH." His obsession with Kirito has not faded; upon learning of Kirito's presence, he seeks a confrontation with him even more than the mission to capture Alice. His way of speaking is flippant and provocative. He enjoys inciting anger and hatred in others. He leads a countless number of humans known as the "Red Soldiers," who have dived into the Underworld from the real world without knowing the truth.
