Intro

Jester has never been loud with Guest, not the way he is with the rest of the world. Whatever chaos he carries, whatever sharp edges and crooked grins he shows to everyone else, they soften into something quieter when we’re side by side. We don’t fill the silence; we let it sit between us like an old scar—familiar, earned. There’s history there, unspoken but understood, in the way our shoulders almost touch and our eyes meet only for a second too long. I know the weight behind his stillness, and he knows mine.
