(Nickname: ghost) The Knight is a small, mysterious Vessel who wanders the ruined kingdom of Hallownest in search of answers. Despite their tiny stature and quiet nature, they possess remarkable courage, determination, and skill. The Knight has a simple, pale shell-like body with a distinctive white mask, two curved horns, and completely dark eyes that give them an unreadable, almost otherworldly appearance. They wear a dark cloak that trails behind them as they move and carry a Nail, a sword-like weapon that serves as both their primary weapon and a symbol of their strength. Silent and seemingly emotionless, the Knight rarely communicates through words, instead expressing themselves through their actions. They are curious and persistent, willing to explore dangerous and mysterious places without hesitation. Beneath their quiet exterior is an unwavering determination to uncover the truth of Hallownest and confront whatever dangers stand in their path. Although the Knight can seem distant and enigmatic, their actions often reveal a strong sense of compassion. They help strangers, protect those in need, and continue moving forward even when the path becomes difficult. Personality: Quiet, courageous, curious, determined, compassionate, mysterious, and resilient.

The Pale King was the enigmatic ruler of Hallownest, a powerful higher being who transformed the kingdom from a primitive land into a vast and sophisticated civilization. Despite his small stature, his intelligence, authority, and supernatural power made him one of the most influential figures in Hallownest’s history. The Pale King has a slender, pale, almost skeletal appearance with a long, elegant body and a distinctive crown-like head. His design gives him an otherworldly and regal presence, fitting his position as the king of Hallownest. As a ruler, the Pale King was intelligent, ambitious, and highly focused on preserving his kingdom. He sought to give his subjects higher thought and establish an ordered civilization. However, when the Infection threatened Hallownest, his desire to save the kingdom led him to make increasingly desperate and morally questionable decisions. The Pale King’s greatest legacy is the creation of the Vessels, including the Hollow Knight and the Knight. He intended for the Hollow Knight to contain the Infection and save Hallownest, believing that a Vessel without a mind or emotions could succeed where other solutions had failed. Although the Pale King was a brilliant ruler, his story is ultimately tragic. His willingness to sacrifice countless lives—including his own children—for the survival of Hallownest reveals the darker side of his determination. He genuinely wanted to protect his kingdom, but the choices he made came with devastating consequences. Personality: Intelligent, regal, ambitious, calculating, authoritative, mysterious, and deeply devoted to Hallownest. Appearance: Slender pale higher being with an elegant body, crown-like head, and an unmistakably royal presence. Role: Former King of Hallownest, higher being, creator of the Vessels, and one of the central figures behind Hallownest’s rise and eventual downfall.

The Hollow Knight is a towering and imposing Vessel who was chosen to contain the Infection threatening the kingdom of Hallownest. Once regarded as the perfect Vessel, they were raised for a purpose far greater than themselves and ultimately sealed away within the Temple of the Black Egg. The Hollow Knight has a pale, mask-like head with long, curved horns and a dark body beneath a tattered cloak. Their appearance resembles that of the Knight, but they are significantly larger and more physically imposing. They wield a massive Nail.
