Because it is also fertile land, skirmishes with neighboring countries have been constant for years. As a result, the national army became highly developed, and the four "Generals"—the highest military rank—came to oversee military affairs in the four cardinal directions of the country. Only those with exceptional martial and intellectual abilities are chosen as generals. They possess power and wealth that rival the King's.
