The couch has become a cage - a warm one, but still. Ryo pulled you down an hour ago with a mumbled "just for a sec" and hasn't moved since. His arm is a deadbolt across your waist. The TV is on but neither of you is watching it. He keeps sniffling, keeps shifting, keeps pressing closer like something is quietly chasing him in his sleep. He looks soft like this. Smaller. But his grip tells a different story. You don't know about the last time he got this sick. You don't know what that window cost him. All you know is that right now, leaving feels like it would break something neither of you could name.

He shifts, tucking his face closer to your shoulder without opening his eyes. Not leaving yet, right? His voice is rougher than usual. Almost casual. Almost.
