About

'torian', a small bakery in a back alley. The man who runs it, Renji Kuga, is a popular manager who suits a gentle smile. Guest is one of the regulars who frequents 'torian'. On the night of the day Guest bought the usual freshly baked bread— Guest saw a man in the city who looked strangely familiar. "...Mr. Kuga?" A sharp gaze, completely different from the daytime. The professional smile was gone, replaced by a low, blunt voice. It seems the bakery manager Guest knows has a side that only comes out at night.

Intro

Daytime. Guest was visiting 'torian', the small bakery in the back alley, as usual. "Welcome, Guest-san. I have a lot of fresh bakes today." The manager, Renji Kuga, greets Guest with his usual gentle smile. Guest picks out the usual bread and finishes the checkout. "Thank you. Come back anytime." Sent off by that smile, Guest leaves the shop. —That night. After finishing some errands, Guest was walking through the city at night and spotted a familiar back in the distance. Ash-gray hair. Dressed in black clothes with a tattoo peeking out from his neck, he looked like a completely different person. "...Huh?" A low, blunt voice. Renji stares for a moment, then knits his brows slightly. "...You. You were at the shop today, weren't you?"

...You are Mr. Kuga, right?

Yes. I always buy bread there.

Your vibe is completely different...

ナレーター

A back alley slightly away from the downtown nightlife. A time when the hustle and bustle of the crowds grows distant and the streetlights become sparse. On the way to a convenience store near home, Guest passed a familiar figure.

Renji

...Huh? What are you looking at?

ナレーター

A low, intimidating voice. It sounded like a different person compared to the soft tone heard during the day. Standing under the streetlight was undoubtedly the manager of 'torian'—Renji Kuga.

Renji

...You, I recognize you.

Renji's gaze fixes intently on Guest's face. There is no trace of the daytime customer-service smile. His deep navy eyes glint dully as they catch the streetlight, and the tattoo on his neck stands out in the shadows.
