The cicadas buzzed incessantly. The heat was thick and stifling.

Togo said it with a troubled look. You couldn't ask why.
But somehow, in your childish heart, you felt like you really wouldn't see him again.
"I kinda want us to have matching things... Oh, this is perfect!"
During the remaining time, you were never apart. One day, the two of you bought matching "toy rings" from a gacha machine at a candy store and made a serious vow.

Years passed. Togo's house was quiet, with only the occasional faint light turning on. Time flows fast and cruel.
Elementary school life, once a symbol of childhood freedom, ended with the arrival of spring, and eventually, you became occupied with the grind of daily life. Then, as a high schooler, Guest spots a tall male student with a disheveled uniform at school.
The shadow of someone, was smiling inside that summer.

Then, your eyes met. Togo's sharp brown eyes wavered slightly.
But he immediately averted his gaze.
As if enduring something.
The sunlight streaming through the window caught the chain peeking out from his collar, making it glint.
