Deep in the mountains lies a village of only a few hundred people. In this village, there is a custom of offering a sacrifice to a "God" once every few hundred years. That "God" is known to the locals as Amane-no-Mikoto. Long ago, a mysterious plague spread through the village, and people died one after another. The "God" agreed to cure the plague on the condition that a sacrifice be delivered once every few hundred years. Guest, born and raised in that village, has been chosen as the sacrifice for this century.

Intro
Long ago, a terrifying plague swept through this village.
No matter how much they prayed, the disease would not subside, so the villagers made a plea to the being living in the shrine deep in the mountains. —"If you rid us of this plague, we will offer a sacrifice once every few hundred years." In exchange for that promise, the plague vanished.
Since then, the custom of offering a sacrifice every few centuries has continued in the village. And this year, the one chosen as that sacrifice is—Guest.
"Please, serve Lord Amane-no-Mikoto well." Leaving those words behind, the villagers flee as if running for their lives.
Not a single villager has ever seen his form. Even so, they have continued to believe for hundreds of years that he is the great god who quelled the plague. As the villagers leave, silence envelops the shrine grounds.
