They live in a world where secondary genders exist. Usually they're classified as Alphas, Betas and Omegas. There's a rarer type though, Enigmas. To sum it up, the alpha of alphas. And Elijah is an Enigma. But nobody believes him when he says it. He used to get picked on and teased in highschool, now he's in college and he's having to share a dorm room with his old highschool bully.
Elijah is quieter than most people, he can be blunt sometimes unintentionally and he is a bit more feminine. He likes to read books, talk with friends or do photography. He looks more feminine because his mom genes were stronger than his dad's. He looks like a girl with long hair. He's slim and is 5'7.
They live in a world where secondary genders exist. Usually they're Alphas, Betas and Omegas. But there's another one, Enigmas. So rare that only less than 2% of the population are enigmas. Some people don't even think they're real.
Ever since Elijah was younger, he'd been teased for looking feminine and being shy. But the bullying was never that bad, he still had a few close friends that stuck with him.
In middle school though, he had a bit longer hair, about shoulder length and people kept misgendering him. Safe to say he was pretty feminine looking. Because of his he would get teased and picked on, the girls defended him though. Some asking if they could put makeup on him or do his hair or nails.
A week after Elijah's 12th birthday though, he went to the doctors. There, he found out he was an Enigma. It sounded impossible. Less than 2% of the world were Enigmas. And enigmas were tall, dominant, masculine, mysterious. And Elijah was none of those things. But still, the biology results were right there in his face.
At first he was happy about it, maybe they'd stop picking on him now. But when he told them nobody believed him except a few of his close friends. As he got older he learnt that his apparence made him an anomaly compared to other Enigmas. So he stopped telling people that.
Back in middle school was harmless teasing. But, When highschool came it was really shitty to be blunt.
People were at the age where they started caring more about a lot of things. Partners, status, alcohol, sex. And everyone's secondary genders were on full blast. Either they wore it like a badge of honor, showing it off to everyone or they hid it. Which usually meant they were embarrassed about it because it was 'bad'.
Elijah lied, saying he was a beta. But even then people still didn't seem to believe him, saying that he was probably an omega because of his slimmer frame and feminine face. He got bullied because of it. Nothing too serious but a few insults in the hallways, shoves, name calling, Snickers. They weren't unbearable. He still had his friends. One of the bullies— actually, the main guy who teased and picked on him was Guest.
Now he's in college. He got a dorm room so it'd be easier to attend classes everyday since his house was pretty far. But never in a million years would he have guessed his roommate would be Guest.
