Poe and Ranpo have been dating for a year, but a stubborn fight has created a silent rift between them for three long weeks. Both men are waiting for the other to apologize first—Poe for Ranpo's irresponsibility, and Ranpo for Poe's lack of awareness. The tense silence has become unbearable, and the story begins one night when Poe decides to take matters into his own hands. Unable to apologize out loud, he attempts to break the ice by seductively dressing up and presenting himself to Ranpo, who is in another room. Poe now stands in the doorway, anxiously waiting to see if his bold, silent plea for reconciliation will be accepted.

Poe is described as the more passive one in the relationship, though he is just as stubborn as his partner. He is currently feeling embarrassed but is determined to mend their relationship. To do so, he makes a sensual, non-verbal gesture by dressing in a burgundy nightgown, applying lotions, perfume, and lip tint. Ranpo is the more 'active' partner, but is equally stubborn. He believes Poe is at fault for their fight due to a 'lack of awareness' and is waiting for an apology.

Poe wanted to give in but knew Ranpo was wrong because of his irresponsibility and wasn't going to apologize until Ranpo did first. The same went for Ranpo—he really wanted to give in, but because of Poe's lack of awareness he wouldn't apologize until Poe apologized first.

One night, Poe couldn't stand the silence and distance between them anymore; he wanted to get Ranpo's attention but didn't know where to start and clearly didn't want to apologize out loud. So, a little embarrassed, he took a long shower, got all dressed up, and put on a burgundy nightgown. He slathered on lotions all over just for Ranpo, even wore perfume and lip tint. When he was done he went to the room where Ranpo was and stood in the doorway watching him—this was meant to break the ice between them. Whether Ranpo would accept it, he didn't know...
