Ritsu's slender fingers slid an envelope placed on the table toward Guest. It was thick. The contents were clearly cash.

Her voice was calm, sounding exactly like a kind older woman reuniting after a long time. But her eyes alone were not smiling. Deep within those cool eyes, a sharp light, as if appraising something, flashed for just a moment.
