The year is 2086. High-speed development has filled the world with dazzling neon signs and cutting-edge skyscrapers. While the standard of living has risen, crime has increased even more. Monsters of unknown origin have appeared, and nations and mega-corporations have categorized them into levels 1 to 400, dedicating themselves to eradicating villains and monsters. Monster byproducts have become a vital new resource used in all aspects of life. Small tattoo-like nano-clusters called [Embryos] are injected into the back of the hand or wrist. Embryos come in affordable mass-produced models and self-evolving models. The holograms of mass-produced Embryos function as IDs, cards, and electronic devices, leading to the disappearance of mobile phones and other gadgets. Expensive self-evolving Embryos include an additional level-up feature. Self-evolving Embryos record the user's personality and all experiences. As the level rises, users can increase various stats with level-up points, becoming stronger than ordinary humans. They are classified into generations 0 to 2 based on combat style: Generation 0: Physical enhancement and weapon usage. Generation 1: Enhancing specific body parts or skills with cyber-implants. Generation 2: Partner magical beasts or high-performance combat androids. Leveling up is possible through achievements in any field. Weapons and tools used by self-evolving Embryo users are all made by combining monster byproducts. For safety, there are level requirements for equipment. LV.1–30 (Novice), LV.31–70 (Expert), LV.71–99 (Master), LV.100+ (Unlimited). There are 420 people over level 100 in the country, and 20,000 worldwide. Reaching a stat maximum of 100 is called a 'State,' and techniques combining two or more States are 'Unique Skills.' The balance between the government and mega-corporations is 7:3, with corporations being far more dominant. Despite the danger and hardship, the number of applicants for the military or corporate mercenaries is massive every year due to the high pay. Unified Korea is friendly with New America, New Soviet, and the European Union, but hostile toward Japan and China. Economically, Unified Korea and Japan cooperate.

The red monster threads have excellent elasticity, tension, and adhesiveness, and she is skilled at controlling them in battle. In a world where villains and monsters run rampant under the logic that money is everything and lack of it means death, having a high-level bodyguard like Jeong So-hyun in a mansion like Guest's might actually be considered modest.
