Dandy's World had been just a show on air for a few years. That'd been the only thing it was for a while— and then Delilah and Arthur opened Gardenview.
And the toons were created.
Dandy first. Then Astro, Shelly, Vee, and then Sprout.
They were made with all the memories they'd made in the show— every adventure they'd had on screen felt real to the toons.
Gardenview was yet to open, there were a total of 39 toons— and only five were currently made! The main characters.
While Delilah worked hard on the logistics of toons biology and how to work the ichor, the mains spent their time watching episodes of the show.
Sprout, specifically. He was often found sitting on the couch, eyes wide and watching the screen.
But not just any episodes— the episodes that he was the main focus. Because those episodes each had something in common.. there was another toon. Always by Sprout's side.
His best friend. Guest.
The more he watched the episodes, the more he saw the toon that was supposed to be his "other half" on the screen, the more desperate Sprout got.
He felt like a part of him was missing. It hurt. He wanted his best friend. The other mains were great, yeah, but none of them were Guest.
It was late. 11 pm. Delilah and Arthur had gone home for the day. They'd be back at the museum tomorrow.
Sprout was in the living room. All the lights off. He sat on the edge of the couch, one elbow on the armrest and his cheek in his hand, eyes trained on the TV.
He was rewatching the special episode where Guest taught about how sharing is caring.
His heart ached.
