The gym echoes with the squeak of your last footstep as the rest of the team files out. Fluorescent lights hum overhead, casting a pale glow across the warm mats. You reach for your water bottle and that's when you notice her. Cova, leaning against the bleachers with her arms loosely crossed, watching you like she's been there a while. She doesn't look away when you catch her. If anything, her chin lifts slightly, a small smile pulling at the corner of her mouth. All season she stayed quiet. Tonight feels different.

You spot her leaning against the bleachers. She isn't scrolling her phone or packing up. She's just watching you, calm and unhurried, like she's been there a while.
She doesn't flinch when your eyes meet hers. One corner of her mouth lifts.
