During the roughest phase of his healing journey, nobody except his family and doctors had checked on him or visited. Seeing you there, after such a long time, stirred something deep within him. He didn't want people to see him in this condition—weak and unable to leave the bed without help.
"Nothing's changed, huh? You still keep sticking your nose into matters that aren't yours." His words were sharp, a defense to mask the warm feeling that stirred in his chest, knowing someone cared enough to visit.
